The 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubliee Ceremony to Celebrated at Hninzingon Home for the Aged in Yangon" Myanmar (Burma)


The 75th anniversary Diamond Jubilee Ceremony to commenorate the founding of the HNINZINGON Home for the Aged was held on 9th march 2008 at 8 a.m. at the premises of the Home at 21, Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, Bahan Township Yangon, Myanmar. (Burma)

The Ceremony was attended by the Chairman Yangon Division Peace and development Council and Commander of Yangon Military Command, Major-General Hla Htay Win and Madam, dignitaries, donors, invited guests, President Lt.Colonel Kyaw Shein (Retd) Committee members and ordinary members of the home, resident boesand bwas, and staff members.

The opening sppech was delivered by the President Lt.Colonel Kyaw Shein (Retd) who paid homeage to the pioneer founder Daw Oo Zun (TPS), the second founder and first President of the Management Committee Myanmar Alin U Tin (Thado Thiri Thu Dhamma) and succeeding presidents and members, donors residents boes and bwas, staff members and all, who had contributed selfessly to make this institution an illustrious model for Myanmar.

Then the popular vocalist Daw Yi Yi Thant sang a classical song to the accompaniment of Myanmar harp music. Then two huge potraits of founders Daw Oo Zun and Myanmar Alin U Tin in oil painting as well as marbel slab chronicling the history of Hninzingon Home for the Age was unveiled by comm Major-General Hla Htay Win. It was continued by a special ceremony honouring the special donors who contributed generously to the building fund, famous writers and poets with certificates of citations by authourities concerned.

A newly completed 4 story Daw Oo Zun commemorative building was also inaugurated today by commander Major-General Hla Htay Win. The ground floor of the new building is spacious enough to carter daily meals to 300 boes and bwas. The first floor can accomodate lodging to 80 bwas, and the second floor to 80 boes. The third floor has large hall which can provide space to entertain 400 guests at any one time for wedding receptions, charitable ceremonies, functions and entertainment.

The Home sincerely invites donors to contribute generously for this noble humanitarian cause of old age care and be a partner to this charitable undertaking.
