75th Anniversary milestone (1933-2008)

In 2008, the Hninzigone Home has reached the 75th year anniversary (1933-2008). A magnificent ceremony will be held to commemorate the humanitarian deeds of merit by the most admirable pioneer lady Daw Oo Zun, who initiated this mission single handed by out of her own assets and savings. The first Home was founded in 1915 at Mingun. Hninzigone Home, the fourth was founded in 1933. To dedicated was she to the cause of humanity, and deep devotion, to Buddhist faith that she remained single all her life and even renounced the lay womanís was become a nun at the age of 62. When she passed away in 1944 at the age of 76, Myanma Alin U Tin, statesman, philanthropist and journalist continued this missionary endeavour from 1943 to 1978 till his peaceful demise at the age of 81. The Diamond Jubilee will principally focus on these two most venerable personalities and also on those succeeding presidents who sustained the momentum of growth to this day.
